He continued his studies at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry and graduated in 1985. The same year, Dr. Porter moved to Shreveport with his wife, Sarah, and were blessed with two beautiful children thereafter.
Dr. Porter has a 27-year-old daughter, Madeline, and a 25-year-old son, Sam. Madeline plans to follow in her father’s footsteps and is also practicing dentistry at a school in Lafayette, while Sam is a Project Account Manager for Koch Industries in Wichita, Kansas. His youngest child, Remi, is a Chocolate Labrador who is the most loyal and loving companion (other than Sarah) a man could ever have.
Dr. Porter has been practicing dentistry in Shreveport for 32 years and is a member of the American Dental Association and the Louisiana Dental Association. He continues to remain current in modern trends and advances by attending continuing education training courses each year. He also volunteers through St. Luke’s Medical Mission to provide dentistry to those less fortunate.
In his free time, Dr. Porter loves to travel with his wife and enjoys hunting, fishing, playing tennis, hiking, biking, and kayaking.
“I feel blessed to be able to do what I do and meet the wonderful patients and friends that I have made in this continuing life journey.” - Dr. Andrew W. Porter.
